Every community has eyesores—an old gas station, an abandoned warehouse, a contaminated former factory site. Successful communities turn those eyesores into eye candy—expanded green space, new housing, thriving retail.

Brownfield redevelopment is one way to strategically fight blight, improve quality of place and spark economic development. If your community has a potentially-contaminated site that is impeding future growth, consider attending an upcoming brownfields workshop presented by the Indiana Communities Institute, Technical Assistance to Brownfields (TAB) Communities Program, Indiana Brownfields Program, and EPA Region 5. Each workshop, held on back-to-back days at the Ball State Fishers Center for Academic and Economic Innovation, has a slightly different focus.

Who should attend the Brownfields Workshop Series?

  • Economic and community development practitioners
  • Government officials and community leaders
  • Passionate people who want to address brownfields through available resources and partnerships

Space is limited. Register now!

Brownfields Key Concepts and Resources Workshop

The Brownfields Key Concepts and Resources Workshop provides a helpful overview of the why, the what, and the how of brownfields redevelopment. We’ll discuss the tools needed to address challenges, and we’ll highlight success stories that showcase achievable possibilities.

Brownfields Partnerships in Practice Workshop

Communities seeking ideas and insights related primarily to brownfields redevelopment through creative partnerships should attend the Brownfields Partnerships in Practice Workshop. The private developer perspective is shared along with collaborative solutions to challenging problems.
